Task 1-peer and self assessment of performance of six
After watching videos back from the performance of six the musical I was able to evaluate and give myself feedback based on the performance. I feel that after being given the feedback I can see I was consistently accurate within all of the numbers after rewatching back video I also feel I could have improved on my sense of character a lot more even though I was able to portray my character I feel I could have over exaggerated a little more on those sensual Bob fosse movement to help give a better understanding of the song and storyline in its self. For my qualities within the performance I put a tick next to accurate for most of the dance, this is because although I was accurate for most of the performance on my musicality and rhythm I could also improve on making this a lot more stronger, for example I could have been a lot more powerful with my movement and gone a lot more fill out in some of the sections. for the context and interpretation section I ticked the box for consistently effective as even though this could be improved I feel I was still able to
Communicate the meaning of dance in performance.
Photo of my peer assessment-
My peer feedback sheet was filled in by Robyn cable. From this peer assessment, I can conclude that my performance was strong and consistent throughout the whole performance. It is clear that my peer can note that my technique was also very accurate and consistent, the same with my characterization and use of expressions. From this and comments from other peers, I can confidently say my facial expressions and projection of character has greatly improved from our first rehearsals of this show. I now need to develop them further to match every genre. I felt I excelled in the sassy and dramatic dances; however, I need to work on my facial expressions in emotional and melonic songs such as 'Heart of Stone'. I need to be able to sing and show the emotion and sadness that the song is portraying to make sure I am consistently projecting the meaning of the song. I will do this by practicing future songs in front of a mirror and focusing on my facial expressions and not so much the movement so that I can see how I am portraying character and communicating the choreographer's intent through my expressions and faces.
